As someone in the field of anti-racist public education, I found this book very useful and thought-provoking. There are background and theory articles, lesson plans, handouts, and a complete range of resources. And all these items are in bite-size articles and excerpts that make them very practical and useful for staff and students. I was thrilled to find this book and even more thrilled to read through it!

When I pulled several hypnosis books off the library shelf to review, "Beyond Hypnosis" did not quite appeal to me. The cover was unattractive and quite plain. However, an inner-awareness told me to check out the book and to read it. I did so.

I enjoyed the book immensely, enough to order a copy for myself! Mr Pulos' book put the hypnosis phenomena into a perspective that allowed me to comprehend and apply the principals to my daily activities. I actually was able to hypnotize myself for a brief period. I envy the author for his intelligence and insight.

Between readings, I left the book on my bed. Without prodding, my wife skimmed the book; I knew that she is skeptical about these things. To my surprise, she read the book in its entirety. She said that she could relate to many of the elements in the book. She commented that this was one of the few books from which we both received mutual enlightenment! The book also served as a foundation for further reading on hypnosis.

Lee Martin is the best author I know! This is her best book yet. I enjoyed it very much. Martin writes wonderful police procedurals, and every one of them will keep you on the edge of your seat. Bird in a Cage is very interesting, and I reccomend it to anyone who likes mysteries or suspense stories. If you are a Lee Martin fan, this book is a must have for you!

Another fabulous book by Lee Hammond. I like her style, not only does she instruct, but she shows you how the work looks completed using different types of colored pencils which is great. Great job. I also have some of her other colored pencils books and love them all.

So begins Jeanne Lee's evocative folktale set in a fifteenth century Chinese village. When Mei Mei's father dies on the eve of her wedding, her brothers use her dowry to pay for an extravagant funeral, then take all his possessions for themselves, and throw her out of the house. Unable to marry and shunned by the village, she eventually finds work and shelter with the crippled old woman, Po Po, another outcast who makes and sells her bitter dumplings each day at the market. When the Emperor's treasure fleet sails into the harbor, a ship's slave escapes, and asks the two women to hide him, and this, the three find is the start of a new beginning for all of them..... Ms Lee's dramatic text is filled with history as her story unfolds, slowly, towards its happy and satisfying conclusion, and is complemented by eloquent illustrations in soft and muted colors. Together, word and art transport the reader to a far-away place and time. With an author's note filled with historical details that enhance the story, Bitter Dumplings is an engaging tale, perfect for youngsters 7-10, or as a read-aloud for younger children.

A Bitter Rose is a wonderful book. The author has an eloquent style of writing that made reading this book so pleasurable. This book is inspirational and illustrated how families can stay together in spite of obstacles. This thought-provoking story also shows how important it is to look past tragedies and to always remember that God has a plan for us all.

The author put her heart and soul into making this novel an inspirational and heart-warming story. Once I started reading this book, I could not put it down. I look forward to reading more books written by this author. This author is a wonderful and gifted writer and I thoroughly enjoyed how she made the characters come alive in A Bitter Rose.
